Ride United
The Ride United Program is no longer available
Effective April 10, 2026 at 5 p.m., Ride United will conclude and will no longer accept ride requests.
The Ride United pilot program provided critical, short-term transportation support to help individuals access essential services across our community.

Ride United helped bridge transportation gaps by providing Lyft rides for people traveling to medical appointments, job interviews, food pantries, and housing-related services, demonstrating both strong demand and meaningful impact.
The pilot was designed as a time-limited initiative, and the funding allocated for the program has now been fully utilized.
While the pilot is ending, the need it addressed remains clear. United Way of Central Iowa is actively evaluating what we’ve learned through Ride United and exploring how those insights can inform future solutions and partnerships that improve transportation access across central Iowa.
We are grateful to the partners, agencies, and community members who connected neighbors to the resources they need to thrive through Ride United.
